Factors and Procedures Used in Admissions

Full-time program
The Tippie MBA program seeks candidates with excellent academic ability and strong potential for success in a professional environment. Official GMAT scores are required. Ideal candidates have clear records of leadership in school, work, and/or the community and professional work experience. Interviews are required as part of a campus visit or, by invitation, via telephone.
Executive program
Avg. class member age is 39 w/15 years post-baccalaureate work experience. A formal application, corporate letter of sponsorship, college transcripts & campus interview are all required to complete the application process. Program begins with a 4-day residency week and ends 21 months later. Classes typically meet on alternating Fridays & Saturdays.
Part-time program
Applications are accepted year round for initial enrollment in the academic semesters. Admission decisions are based upon an assessment of relevant factors including post-baccalaureate professional work experience, academic performance, quality of recommendations, and GMAT scores. The Admissions Committee reviews completed applications only. Their decision is shared in writing and by phone.
